Description

Don Ruben is the epitome of athleticism, resembling the high degree of international
Olympic warmbloods with the willing, go with the flow, temperament of his
Knabstrupper sire. He is a very well balanced correct specimen with excellent
proportions and bloodlines. He is a big mover and his presence fills the room. From
day 1 he was a very affectionate horse that loved human interaction. He is a work
horse that enjoys a strict work routine. His breeding is phenomenal with the
combination of prominent blood from Royal Z from his sire side and Don
Frederico/Rotspon on the dam side. Ruben was graded premium status with an
overall 8.
Royal Z, bred by the well known stud, Zangersheide, epitomizes the successful formula of
breeding Ramiro Z to Alme Z mares. As a three year old he was third out of seventeen
stallions in the Danish Warmblood 100 day test. Returning to Herning, site of the Danish
National Stallion Show, as a five year old Royal Z II won the young horse championship. In
1995, he was named an elite Dansk Varmblod Stallion based on his own performance record
as well as the records of his offspring. A grand prix jumper in his own right, Royal Z II has
sired both top performing dressage horses and showjumpers globally. He has produced
licensed stallions in other countries including, Radiant Skovgaard, a world cup winner. While
he has sired many main and head studbook mares, he is best known for siring competition
horses. These include Radiant, Resanto, Welten Z Enemaerke, particularly Castana
Enemaerke, who is ranked number one worldwide in the top ten list of competition horses.
Castana won the bronze medal for Dansk Varmblod at the World Breeding Championship. At

the Danish Warmblood Show, the Vilhelmesborg International 2000, six offspring of
ROYAL Z II participated competing against offspring of other top internationally known
stallions. No other stallion had so many offspring selected for this invitational show. All six
were placed by the judges and the panel gave three awards. One of the judges, the former
head of the Swedish National Stud, Flyinge, declared it to be a remarkable feat given the
number of Royal Z II offspring that have been exported. The offspring of Royal Z II are
much desired by top competition riders globally. Royal Z's sire, the licensed Holsteiner
Stallion, Ramiro Z, is the top ranked sire of jumping horses in the World Breeding Federation
for Sport Horses Index. Under Fritz Ligges, Ramiro Z won many Grand Prix classes. He has
produced 50 licensed stallions among whom include Robin Z II, the Swedish Stallion Robin
Z I and Ramses. Royal Z's damsire, Alme Z, a licensed Selle Francais stallion, was an
international winner in numerous Grand Prix jumping classes. He is sire of the world
Champion, Galoubet and the World Cup winner I Love You, as well as the Zangersheide
Stallion, Jalisco B. Royal Z's dam, Aleska Z has produced several licensed sons, including
Cordalme Z and Royal Z I.

Grading description:
Suitable size stallion of extremely good type. Beautiful head on a well set neck. Sloping
shoulder. Slightly short withers. Good overline. Well formed croup. Legs correct
confirmation. Paces extremely good in trot and canter.
Material description: A good and strong stallion with an extremely good temper and an
extremely good character. The stallion works good and rhythmic in all paces. Shows brave,
secure and correct jumping with great capacity both on course and cross country. Ordinary
showing abilities extremely good. The Material Test was made in 1988 at the military
compound in Næstved.
Foal description: Medium sized foals, slightly not uniform in type. Beautiful head. Well set
neck. The majority with a short shoulder and unmarked withers. Good overline. Legs correct
confirmation. Paces good. Should be used on noble mares with good foundation and well
marked back. Basis : 45 foals.

1995 : A harmonic stallion with good influence concerning jumping abilities. The stallion is
full brother to Royal Z 1 DH 353. Sire of the following graded stallion : Rembrandt
Enemærke graded in 1995. Sire of 1 A-horse in jumping. Graded élite-stallion in 1996. Royal
Z II died in 2000.
Don Frederico became Champion of the 1999 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing. This "eye-
catcher" completed his stallion performance test as runner-up with the amazing score of
151.67 points in the dressage section. He also constantly improved his qualities during the
test, proving his excellent mental qualities.
Don Frederico convinces by his excellent rideability and his very good basic gaits which will
impress all dressage riders. He is a member of the Celle black horse dressage quadrille. His

offspring are also demonstrating dressage excellence. In 2005, Dantonisius and Dark Carlotta
were Champion and Reserve Champion Four Year Old Riding horses (mares and geldings) at
the Bundeschampionate. Don Frederico was rated by the German Equestrian Federation as
the second most valuable sport horse breeding stallion of 2005, based on his Breeding Value
Index of 174 points, with an assurance of 89% heritability.
In 2009 he was awarded the Grande Prize of the Hanoverian Verband in part because of the
resounding success of offspring such as the internationally successful Grand Prix gelding,
Don Johnson (mv Warkant) ridden by Isabell Werth, and the Olympic team silver medalist,
Diva Royal (mv Warkant), ridden by Dorothee Schneider. Don Johnson and Isabell Werth
have won many top CDNs and CDIs including the Grand Prix Special at the 2012 CHIO
Aachen and the 2012 Vienna Masters CDI4* Grand Prix. The 10 yr. old mare, Diva Royal,
and Dorothee Schneider made their debut at the Olympic Games and impressed everyone
with a final Kur score of 81.661 placing 7th in the world.

Rotspon was awarded 'Hanoverian Stallion of the Year' by the Hanoverian Verband in
Verden, Germany_2017..
Rotspon is a top quality son of the dressage stallion Rubinstein I. He was the sovereign
winner of the Hanoverian stallion performance test in 1998, scoring an excellent 148.82
points in the dressage category. Like his father, Rotspon is a very impressive horse with a
great rideability, outstanding movements and a high ability for dressage. He also has a good
jumping technique which is above average. He is an elegantly made sire in a noble black coat
with a lot of expression and appearance.
Rotspon's son, Rosevelt, competed for Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics.  With his rider
Allison Brock,  Team USA won Bronze.  Rosevelt also won the 2015 Grand Prix in
Wellington, FL and did it again one month later at the Grand Prix CD13*.
The first crop of offspring by Rotspon were born in the year 2000. The foals have beautiful
heads and a good conformation (long sloping shoulder, long well set up neck). They are
equipped with a very elastic trot and a ground covering walk, and have been very much in
demand.  In the 2015, according to the Hanoverian Stallion Book, Rotspon is credited with
888 competition progeny with winnings of €680,105 – 767 dressage placegetters with 80
progeny competing at S level.
In the 2016 Hanoverian book, the progeny stands at 913, with winnings of €759,161.
Although he has produced nine horses that have won more than €10,000 in the dressage ring,
none are stars. His FN breeding value for dressage is 132, for jumping, 72. His Hanoverian
values are 126 for dressage and 80 for jumping.  He is the sire of 17 licensed sons including
Rascalino and Royal Blend.
