Description

Cleopatra was bought on her genetic merit to increase genetic diversity at our stud. She is a German bred Knabstrupper with a complete diverse historic lineage which is so valuable when managing a breed with a small effective population size. This genetics will enable to preserve the breed long term when bred back to some of our modern lines. Cleo is perfectly conformed with a baroque appearance. She was awarded best in show_North Germany with a premium foal status_ZfDP verband. She is heavier build, but well conformed which makes her move effortlessly with great endurance. She is easy to keep sound during intense training and is a task focused mare. In-between breeding Cleo was schooled to medium dressage before the age of 8. She has produced an absolutely remarkable foal, Majestic Cleoselene, for the stud.

Cleo is one of the very few mares with a direct dam sire link to the all-time favourite Apollon, well-known sire for his magnificent ride-ability, versatility and beautiful exterior. Apollon was also the only Knabstrupper stallion approved for warmblood breeding and a winner at the stallion testing at Vilhelmsborg in 1989. He was awarded the Gold Medal as best Knabstrupper stallion at the 1990 Danish Agriculture Fair and achieving a Premium graded status at the ZfDP grading in Lentfohrden. He had a successful competitive career, having reached M Level in Dressage, Jumping and Eventing. Apollon sired twelve graded stallions and several State Premium daughters.

Cleo’s sire, Tudor af Lille Hav, was a premium foal and is fully graded as a stallion with the ZfDP. His sire, Thunderman, is a premium stallion and a grading winner in Germany. On his mother’s side we find very successful and proven breeding mares. Thunderman’s sire, Thunder King of Mountain, a black leopard Knabstrupper, is approved in the Stallion Book I of the ZfDP.
